Australia Awards Cambodia
Postgraduate learning opportunities for
Cambodia’s current and emerging leaders

I feel both proud and sentimental about completing my Australia Awards Scholarship: a journey of learning and personal growth. Going back to Cambodia is exciting because I’ll have the chance to apply the skills and knowledge I’ve acquired. Nonetheless, it’s bittersweet to leave behind the life and friends I’ve made.

My greatest experience in Australia was working on an industrial research project, which gave me the chance to interact closely with highly qualified professionals and academics while also exposing me to Australia’s professional working conditions. My ability to apply academic knowledge in real-world situations and hone my research and analytical skills made this project especially enriching.

I’ll miss the vibrant cultural scene and the natural beauty of Australia—from its bustling cities to its beautiful national parks. I’ll also miss the coffee culture here, which is unlike anywhere else, and the sense of safety and well-organised public services.

I’m most looking forward to reconnecting with my family, friends and loved ones back home. I can’t wait to eat Khmer cuisine, like Nom Banh Chok, once again.
