Q. What are the Australia Awards?

A: The Australia Awards initiative was announced by the Australian Government in November 2009 and aims to consolidate all Australia’s international scholarship programs under a single scheme and branding. The Australia Awards aim to promote knowledge, education links and enduring ties between Australia and our neighbours through Australia's extensive scholarship programs. It is administered through the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT).

The Australia Awards initiative will, over time, build a new generation of global leaders with strong links to Australia. Australia Awards include the Australia Awards Scholarships, Australia Awards Endeavour Scholarships and Fellowships and the Australia Awards Pacific Scholarships.

In Cambodia, the Australia Awards consist of the Australia Awards Scholarships (AAS) and the Australian Awards Endeavour Scholarships and Fellowships. The Australia Awards Scholarships are managed by Coffey International Development, a Tetra Tech company, on behalf of the Australian Government. The Australia Awards Endeavour Scholarships and Fellowships for Cambodia are managed by Australian Education International (AEI) in Vietnam.
